Carbon Footprint

Task 5:-

My Carbon footprint

I measured my carbon footprint at http://footprint.wwf.org.uk/& it was 3.27. Most of the students had similar figures. The actual average for my class was 3.778.

The main factors which contributed to my figure were classified as:

a) Travel

b) stuff

c) food

What can I do to reduce my carbon footprint?

It is known that the U.A.E has the highest carbon footprint per person as it is a negative thing and people should be aware about that.

The most contributors to my carbon footprint is travel, as I use my car a lot and I admit that sometimes I would be just driving around for a long time. Well some people would probably say just us the bus, but I really think that buses are more pollutant than my car, on top of that I don’t just go from place to place I like to cruise around sometimes and I don’t think the bus would do that for me.

As for air traveling, I don’t travel that much anyways except once every two summers or so.
At my house there isn’t much I could do except to turn off the appliances which I do usually.

Regarding to my food I might be a little guilty as I have three meals a day but in my occasion I really need lots of food as I need 2 gain a bit of weight to lose my thinness.

Summary 3

How Europe can save the world

The European Union has hit on a deal which is set to be very important. German chancellor Angel Merkel used the german presidency to plan an epic commitment on withstanding the climate change.
The European Union has put a goal to lower its carbon dioxide emissions by 20% by 2020.
After 2010, every power station in Europe will have safe technologies and carbon capture, eventually to remove the carbon emissions . Ofcourse there are bad effects. Renewable energy is pretty expensive and poses environmental problems, wind farms disturb natural habitats, mass biofuel farming in some areas could increase the speed of destruction of the rain forest.
The European Union was founded to try to make a collective European benefits the no other country could achieve. The forerunner of the European economic community was the European coal and steel community, created to increase the signatories access to each others coal deposits and steel markets.
For some pro-Europeans there might something to be happy about in the last ten years, but it may even be safe for Britains political class to believe that there are votes in being pro-European.

Main idea

The European Union is planning to find the best way to decrease the carbon dioxide emissions in all the countries around the world to help have a cleaner and better place.
People have to work hard to achieve that goal because they could face some difficulities.

Comment

In my point of view this article discusses a serious situation that needs to be solves to have a better future and it also need people to be aware of this problem to help in solving this problem as soon as possible.
